You should take your own images and write your own descriptions. For more information about the use of images, videos, and text on Donnate, please see our full policy below.
What content is allowed?
You may use images or text on Donnate as long as your use of that content does not infringe third-party rights and the content follows our Offensive materials policy. For further information, see our full policy below.
Can I use images that I copied from other websites on Donnate?
No, you can't use images from a manufacturer's website, even if they are publicly available. Copying content from other websites or internet searches may be considered copyright infringement.
What are the most common reasons for uploaded images to be rejected by moderation?
- Poor quality: An image that is blurry, undefined or distorted is considered poor quality and not allowed
- Human photos: Product photographs must solely feature the item itself. Individuals are not permitted to be present in the image. Hands and feet may be included for scale purposes, but they should not be the focal point of the photograph.
- Illegal content: See the Illegal explicit content policy for more information
- Offensive content: The promotion of glorified hatred, violence, or discrimination isn't allowed. See the Offensive materials policy for more information
- Nudity and sexual content: Images may not include nudity or displays of sexually oriented content. See the Adult items policy for more information
- Infringing content: Images that are used without permission from the respective rights owner are not allowed
- Directing buyers off Donnate: Images including any contact information, web links, URLs, or calls to action that ask viewers to take actions on other sites (for example, "Go to xyz.com to learn more") are not allowed. See Offering to buy or sell outside Donnate policy for more information
Images and text policy overview
When creating listings, sellers should write their own text and take their own photos. Buyers like to see images and descriptions that accurately represent the item they are purchasing. Learn more about adding photos to your listing and writing a good title and description.
If you upload text or photos created by someone else to Donnate, you must have explicit written permission to use them on Donnate from anyone who has any rights to that content. Otherwise, your item may be removed by the owner of the content.
Your listings should follow this policy as well as our other policies, including the Offensive materials policy, Adult items policy, No item listings policy, and Offering to buy or sell outside of Donnate policy.
