Create a listing

Creating a listing is the first step in getting your item in front of buyers. When listing your item, start by describing what you're selling. You can add photos, select the brand and physical details about the item, and set a price.

For a successful sale, the buyer should be able to find the product in the correct category, easily understand its features, and encounter fair pricing.

We also recommend that you get to know our rules for sellers, our policies on prohibited and restricted items, and what's allowed and not allowed when listing and completing a sale.

Photo

You can take photos of your product using your phone's camera at that moment or choose to add them from your gallery. The product photos should be clear to provide detailed information and, if available, should show any defects in the product.

Product Title

Since the title will be visible to other users, you should make it as clear as possible, describing your product while also ensuring it is short enough to be easily readable.

Item description

A perfect item description is clear enough to tell your buyer what they need to know at a scan and yet detailed enough so that there can be no confusion around exactly what they're buying.

For a successful sale, you must specify any defects in the product, special materials, and features that may not be clear in the photos. Mentioning how long you've used the product and providing its current condition will make it easier for buyers to make a decision to purchase.

Category

To connect your product with the right buyers, you must choose the correct category.

Brand

After selecting the category, you should choose the brand of your product. If the brand is not available in our system, you can choose the "Other" option and contact Donnate Support simultaneously to have this brand added.

Item condition

You can sell almost anything on Donnate, from brand new products to items that have signs of wear and tear. It's vital you're honest and accurate about the condition of what you're selling so your buyer knows exactly what they're getting.

Your options for describing your item's condition include:

  • New with tags or seal
  • New - no tags or seal
  • As good as new - In perfect condition
  • Good condition - Quite used, but well preserved
  • Fair condition - With appparent signs of use

Nonprofits

In this field, you can choose nonprofits to which buyers can donate. You can select a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 10 nonprofits. Buyers can choose only one nonprofit when purchasing the product, and all the proceeds will be donated to this nonprofit.

Buy Now Price

In this field, you should enter the price information for the product. This amount indicates the selling price of the product. It is not a mandatory field, but if you leave it blank, you must enter a Starting Offer Price

Starting Offer Price

If you want to receive offers for your product, you can enter a Starting Offer Price. If you allow offers for your products, potential buyers interested in your products can make offers and negotiate with you.

  • Buyers start making an offer at the starting offer price.
  • If you like the buyer's offer, you can approve it; if not, you can reject it or leave it unanswered.
  • The offer price cannot exceed 80% of the Buy Now Price, if it does, it will be disabled.

After listing your product, you can learn how to manage the sale and donation process from our article titled 'I listed my product; what happens now?'

Note: You can only process one product at a time. If you want to list multiple products, you should repeat this process for each product, even if they are different versions of the same item.
