Cancelling an order before payment
When a buyer commits to buying something on Donnate by making an offer, they are obligated to complete the purchase by sending full payment within 2 days after the seller has accepted the offer. If the order gets cancelled due to nonpayment, buyer's offering privileges will be suspended. Buyers can reactivate their offering privileges by paying a Service Fee. The service fee is 5% of the order amount, but it cannot be less than $1 or more than $49.
Before they commit to buying, buyers should note:
- All the terms that the donor has included in the listing,
- Making an offer is a commitment to buy, and offers cannot be retracted.
Failure to pay for items is a violation of our abusive buyer policy.
Cancelling an order after payment
Both the buyer and the seller can cancel an order after payment, but due to transaction costs, 5% of the payment is donated to the nonprofit, and the remaining amount is refunded to the buyer. Buyers should not purchase a product if they do not want to make a donation in case of a return or cancellation. If a seller has too many cancelled orders, Donnate may suspend the account if necessary.
How to cancel an order:
- In Profile, go to Purchases.
- Select the order you want to cancel, and at the very bottom of the page, select Cancel Order.
- Choose a reason for the cancellation and give a more detailed explanation, then select Cancel Order.
After the cancellation process is completed, the refund will be made by the bank.
For payments made with credit cards, the refund process takes 1-3 business days, while for payments made with debit cards, the refund process takes 7-14 business days for the amount to be reflected in the card account.
