How does Donnate work?

It is very easy to shop and make a donation in Donnate. When sellers list their items, they can select one or more nonprofits. When buyers make a purchase, they need to pay the donation amount online, and the remaining amount is paid to the seller during the pickup. After the payment has been processed, Donnate sends a pickup code to the buyer to collect the item from the seller. Once the item has been picked up, the donation is released to the nonprofit.

What happens if the buyer cancels the order after payment?

Nonprofits incur transaction costs when they receive payment, no matter whether the order is delivered or not. Therefore, 5% of the payment is donated to the nonprofit if the buyer cancels the order after payment. The donation cannot be less than $1. Buyers should not purchase items on Donnate if they don't want to make a donation in case of a cancellation.

Can I donate a percentage of my sale?

Sure. When you list your item, you can select the percentage of the price that you want to donate to the nonprofit. While the donation is collected online, you need to collect the amount you will receive from the buyer during the pickup.

How does the delivery process work?

In Donnate, there is only local pickup option. The buyer receives a pickup code after the purchase, and with this code, the buyer can pick up the item from the seller.

Can the buyer return an item?

Due to the nature of second hand shopping and making a donation, returns are currently not available in Donnate. The buyer should do the necessary checks when they pick up the item from the seller. The buyer should cancel the order and not deliver the pickup code to the seller if they are suspicious of the item.

How is Donnate funded?

We rely on the support of our users to cover our expenses. You can support us by choosing Donnate when you list your item or by buying a Donnate subscription plan. Donnate does not charge any commission on purchases unless Donnate is selected by the seller and buyer. The commission rate is the donation percentage selected by the seller, and it cannot be higher than 30% for Donnate selected listings.
